Chick-fil-A fundraiser for Crenshaw family Monday
Chick-fil-A on Georgia will host a fundraising event Monday, Nov. 10, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. to help the Crenshaw family.
The Crenshaws will receive 15% of each purchase. To participate, people need to use the code “Coach Crenshaw” while ordering. Teachers Heather Hale and Chelsea Phemister helped coordinate the event.
“A group of teachers got together for fundraising ideas,” Phemister said. “My cousin owns Chick-fil-A, so we called him to see if we could do a fundraiser there.”
Phemister and Hale do not have a set goal for the sales.
“I don’t know what to expect,” Phemister said. “I think a ton of people are going to come out. I have high expectations.”
Hale said she, along with many others, wanted to help the family.
“We had a desire to help a family who has poured so much of themselves into the community,” Hale said. “Medical bills are outrageous, and to add the funeral cost on top, along with the loss of a loved one is overwhelming.”
Throughout the year, there will be other opportunities to help the Crenshaw family, including the Happy State Bank Crenshaw memorial fund, a bake sale Dec. 18 at the basketball home game, and buying blue powder in memory of Coach Crenshaw for the football game Friday.
Update: The Chick-fil-A fundraiser brought in $400 for the Crenshaw family. Thanks to all who participated!
