Flashing yellow left-turn signals to appear in Amarillo
The intersection of Hillside road and SW 58th Avenue now has a flashing yellow arrow traffic light signal.
The City of Amarillo said in a press release that the new traffic light signal is a result of a Federal Highway Administration 10-year national study that concluded that the arrow prevents crashes and promotes more traffic movement.
Drivers facing a flashing yellow arrow yield to traffic and pedestrians and then make a left turn after the turning area is clear. Flashing yellow arrows for left turns will be installed over time throughout Amarillo.
