Land, Delao crowned homecoming royalty
Senior Ryan Land was crowned homecoming king last Thursday at the Powder Puff game and senior Annalisa Delao was named homecoming queen prior to the Friday night football game against Dumas.
“I was at work and one of my CASP kids asked, ‘Mr. Ryan, will you be at work Thursday?’ and I told him that I wouldn’t because I was on the homecoming Court,” Land said. “That’s when they started calling me, ‘King Ryan.’ When I did win, they found out and started calling me, ‘King Ryan,’ to this day. It’s super cute.”
At the time of the crowning of the queen, temperatures were in the 40s. The cold temperatures did not stop Delao from shining under the Friday night lights.
“It’s an honor to be able to represent my school as queen,” Delao said. “I was really cold before the crowning of the queen. But once I heard my name, I couldn’t feel the cold anymore. I was just so excited and honored.”
