Bring Your Own Technology (BYOT) is a new program that allows students to bring personal mobile learning devices to school to use during class for instructional purposes.
“BYOT allows students to make connections between school and their personal life by using their own devices,” associate Principal Cameron Rosser said.
The allowed devices include Internet-ready cell phones, tablets, laptops and eReaders. Gaming devices with Internet access are not permissible.
Students must adhere to classroom and campus rules and only access the web through the Canyon High public Wi-Fi which maintains the same internet restrictions as school computers. The utilization of 3G or 4G is not permitted.
