Students and faculty will practice campus safety drills throughout the day Friday, Aug. 31.
Local emergency responders, including the Canyon fire and police department, the incident command team and the National Weather Service, will be on campus to assist and oversee drill procedures.
Assistant principal Steven Singleton planned the drills.
“We are by far one of the most prepared campuses I’ve ever seen when it comes to safety drills,” Singleton said. “The faculty is well trained in knowing who is supposed to do what during certain drills.”
The campus will practice two fire drills, a lock-down and a tornado drill.
