The Science Bowl teams competed in the B&W Pantex Science Bowl Saturday, Feb. 25. The annual competition featured 30 teams from high schools around the Texas Panhandle and played out in a two-part tournament.
The Purple team consisted of senior captain Katie Brigance and juniors Meagan Taylor, Sierra Miller, Trevor Ferril and Connor Parker. Junior captain Robbie Thompson-Wright led the White team, which also featured senior Jackie Walsh, juniors Ryan Gillette and Adam Standley and freshman Kyler Johnston.
The Purple team won four rounds and lost one in their morning round-robin division. The White team, in another division, won two and lost three. Both teams advanced to the afternoon double-elimination tournament, where the White team lost two straight rounds to end their run. The Purple team finished fourth overall as they won their first afternoon round, lost, then won three straight before they lost again, one game short of the semifinal.

About the Contributor
Trevor Ferril, Associate Editor
I am Trevor Ferril, senior and associate editor for this year’s Eagle’s Tale staff. This will be my third and final year on staff and my second as an editor. Right now, my interests include most of my classes, mafia (the game), videogames, music, UIL academics, Science Bowl, the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers. I don’t like any other NFC East team, the Angels, the Yankees, death metal, most rap, most FPS games and some of the things I read in English class ("Tale of Two Cities" I’m looking at you) I’m also involved in the school’s varsity choir, Leo Club and will be the senior class treasurer. If you need me, I’ll be around. And don’t worry too much about tomorrow because today has its own worries.
