Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University course offered to students
Agriculture teachers Jimmy Rhoderick and Jeffery Klose began to offer Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University class to students yesterday. Classes will be held in the Ag shop classroom Monday mornings from 7:50-8:35. Due to a school holiday, there will not be a class next Monday.
Students are not required to enroll in the class as it is not school sponsored. The biblically-based course will last nine weeks, with one lesson for each class taught by Dave Ramsey on DVD.
“My wife and I have been going through the course trying to get out of debt and build wealth so I just felt like it was a good thing for these guys to know and have a head start,” Rhoderick said. “I wish there was something like this offered to me at that age.”
The nine lessons are super saving, relating with money, cash flow planning, dumping debt, buyer beware, the role of insurance, retirement and college planning, real estate and mortgages and the great misunderstanding.
“I have never been through the course, but I have read his book “Total Money Makeover” when I was 13,” senior Pate Salazar said. “It helped me have a better understanding of the importance of saving. So when I am 18 I am going to start investing.”
