The UIL Academics teams traveled to Lubbock Jan. 7 to compete in the Red Raider Classic practice meet at Texas Tech University.
The team took second place overall among large schools (4A and 5A), 30 points behind meet champion Lubbock High. Spelling & vocabulary and journalism each won first place team. Number sense and ready writing took second place team.
