“I feel like being captain, I need to keep more of a positive attitude,” colorguard captain Erica Perez said. “I need to make sure the rest of the guard is taken care of and still have passion and motivation for colorguard. I try to avoid complaining about something that’s not working, and I try to give them compliments if I notice something is going really well or if I notice something they’ve improved on. I make sure they know that we still care, and we’re not just picking on them when we tell them something they’re doing wrong. I’m excited for this show, and I think we’ll be really good.”
