“I am trying out for softball,” Freshman Kinleigh Christian said. “I like playing in the outfield. I started playing baseball at a young age, I think I was 6 years old, but I knew I couldn’t do baseball. So I tried out softball. Softball is different from baseball; (in softball) the ball travels to the plate from the pitcher. In softball the pitcher does a little circle and then releases the ball, the ball will travel up while a pitcher in baseball will overhand throw it causing it to travel down. I have a lot of big cheerleaders in softball but I think the two main ones are my mom because she has been to every game I’m in and Shyanne Blackerby because every time I do something wrong she is there for me. If I do something wrong like swing or I am behind the ball she lets me know and I fix it.”
