The girls soccer team will compete Saturday, Jan. 27 at home against Borger High School at noon.

The team has played 10 games this year and will begin district play Feb. 5. They also competed in two tournaments in Lubbock and Burkburnett, finishing third at Burkburnett.

“I’m just ready to have fun, have a great senior year and finish out strong,” senior Cecily Koch said.

Koch said her individual goals are to score goals often and to play together as a team.

“As a team we just want to grow more, play together and win,” Koch said.

Junior Kaiyah Gomez said she wants to have a good attitude when starting games this year.

“Another goal is always to have fun while I’m doing it,” Gomez said. “I want to have better touches so I can play better, too.”

Koch said the team aims to beat all their competitors this season and anticipates a close game with Randall.

“We want to beat Borger pretty bad because that is the game Carly Behrens got hurt in last year,” Koch said.

Koch and Gomez agreed their favorite part of a game is when they score goals, because they have the most fun afterward.

“I love when we score goals because we come together as a team,” Gomez said.
