Cross country moves on from district

The cross country teams competed last Tuesday in the district meet. The girls JV team finished second and the varsity team finishing in third led by senior Kaitlin Rodriguez in third, freshman Angel Hayden in eighth and senior Jordan Norris in ninth.

Both boys teams finished the meet in second place. The varsity team was led by senior Kole Bryan in second and sophomores Joseph Trevino and  Treet Allison in the top ten.

“I was very excited to get second,” Bryan said. “I was confident in my ability to race in the top group and it paid off.”

The varsity teams will compete in the regional meet this Saturday at Mea Simmons Park in Lubbock.

“My focus is to place in the top ten and hopefully top 5 individually,” Bryan said. “This will hopefully give the team a win and put us in a good position to compete at state.”
