The Little Mermaid cast performs Thursday, Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec.11 at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the CHS auditorium. “Theres a lot of different people from different groups like basketball players and cheerleaders,” Junior Monica Hernandez said. “Youve got football, youve got baseball, youve got all these different groups and they all have different branches of friends. Everyone wants to come and support their friends.”

After the Canyon ISD school board approved the proposal in May, Canyon High School is now offering a girls wrestling program beginning this school year. The program is also being welcomed to the CISD junior high campuses. “Once we started the boys program, we always knew the girls program was coming,” Frausto said. “We couldn’t be more excited to get this program up and running.”

The new Canyon ISD website will go live Wednesday and can still be accessed at Canyonisd.net. We want to be able to communicate and provide information to future familys and employees, John Forbis, CISD Coordinator of Communication and Human Resources, said. We want it to be something that when somebody clicks on the website, they look and recognize instantaneously, this is an outstanding district.
