iCreate was previously held at Canyon High for two years, but the upcoming event will be held at Randall High Saturday, April 18.

CISD will host its annual iCreate exhibition Saturday, April 18 at Randall High School from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Admittance is free, and the event is open to the community. Students can choose from a variety of subjects to display either with a group or individually including cooking, engineering, woodworking, crafts, computers, art and music. Students can display multiple projects. Sponsors of the event include The Vault, Dell, Amarillo College and Burn Art Studio.  CISD Chief Technology Officer Michael Keough said all students from the district are invited to participate in the event.

We are planning for about 100-125 students to participate,Keough said. “The best way for elementary students to get involved is for students to get together with their librarian on the campus. Librarians are equipped to help with iCreate. High school students should think of something that they’re already talented at or something that they’re learning. This way, they can show off their projects and let someone else learn it too.”

Senior Claire Meyer, who participated in iCreate last year, said the event gave her a lot of opportunities to display her work.

“In any school district, art is just one of those things that can be hard to showcase,” Meyer said. “iCreate is a good opportunity to do this. I had a lot of things going on; I had a painting, a comic book and stories. Whatever it is that you do that makes you unique and something that you really put yourself into, you should take it to iCreate.”

Students who want to participate can sign up here or learn more about iCreate here. Students can also ask questions regarding the event here.
