The school calendar will feature more frequent breaks throughout the school year.

The 2017-18 school year will feature new teacher email addresses, more frequent calendar breaks and new technology in the hands of students.

Students will receive Chromebooks in the upper commons, starting with the seniors on Monday, Aug. 21. Registration will require student ID and a $40 payment to the school, either through MyPaymentsPlus or the front office.

“We’re excited to get them into the students’ hands,” Principal Tim Gilliland said. “We’re very optimistic that our students will do a really good job taking care of the Chromebooks.”

Teachers will also shift to Google communications systems, with email addresses switching to a [email protected] formula starting this year.

“So far, the conversion has been good,” Gilliland said. “But there’s no such thing as seamless when it comes to changes in technology.”

Parents and students can access the school calendar on the school’s website, where all holiday dates are shown.
