Lady Eagles begin State UIL Basketball Tournament Thursday

Students participated in a sendoff Tuesday for the Lady Eagles, who will compete in the semifinals 7 p.m. Thursday, March 3 against Crosby.

Fans can listen to the Lady Eagles basketball semifinal game against Crosby 7 p.m. Thursday, March 3 for free at tpsnsports.com and can watch live with a $9.95 day pass at NFHS network.

The Lady Eagles basketball team will make their third consecutive appearance at the UIL State Basketball Tournament at the Alamodome in San Antonio. If the team advances, the Lady Eagles will play in the finals 3 p.m. Saturday, March 5.

“This is the second time I will be going to state and I couldn’t be more excited,” junior Meghan Jackson said. “I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for us.”

Junior Paitlyn Tankersley, varsity player, said this year is as exciting as last year.

“Our goal remains the same,” Tankersley said. “We want to win a state title and represent Canyon High.”
