Senior Brylee Winfrey studies for the ACT in the learning commons.

West Texas A&M University will conduct a free ACT preparation session in the Canyon High School commons Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 6:00 p.m. College and Career Counselor Mishon Wright said the session is open to both Canyon and Randall students. Randall High School will host a later session open to Canyon High students as well.

“The ACT prep is tutoring for any juniors or seniors to take the ACT in October,” Wright said. “WT peer-to-peer access will be conducting the session. Any kind of review is definitely going to help students do well on the ACT.”

Although all Canyon High juniors will take the ACT for free Feb. 20, 2019, the nearest ACT date is Oct. 27, 2018, and the last day to sign up without late fees is Sept. 28 at www.actstudent.org. The basic test costs $50, but tests with the writing portion are $67. Late registration, available Sept. 29-Oct. 14, requires an additional $30 fee. Students will use the Canyon High School code 441-115 to register.
