Band to perform Christmas concert Tuesday
The band will perform their annual Christmas concert Dec. 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
The performance will begin with sections of the beginner band playing individual tunes followed by the Canyon Junior High band’s performance. The concert will close with performances by the Canyon High Concert, Symphonic and Honors bands. Band director Mike Sheffield said this performance will be exciting and will count as preparation for their contest season in the spring semester.
We’re just here to entertain, so that makes it enjoyable.
— Mike Sheffield
“This is usually one of the more enjoyable performances,” Sheffield said. “We do challenge the students, but it’s also pretty light-hearted. We’re not performing to the educated; we’re just here to entertain, so that makes it enjoyable. Overall, it’s music for fun.”
Senior Braden Lefevre said he is excited to hear the younger bands perform.
“Those kids are the future of the Canyon High School band program,” Lefevre said. “I think their performance will be really excellent.”
