Senior NHS Officer Erica Perez presents Meghan Kempf with the ribbon indication admission to NHS.

The Canyon High School Chapter of the National Honor Society will induct new members tonight at their ceremony beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Admission into the ceremony is free and guests of inductees are welcome to attend.

Requirements to become a member of NHS include a 91.5 GPA, the completion of two Pre-AP, AP, or Dual Credit courses, current enrollment in one those courses, and approval by committee of teachers.

“This program is very helpful to both the community and the students who participate in it,” NHS vice president Jaren Tankersley said. “I feel safe in speaking on behalf of our other officers and our sponsor, Mrs. Hale, when I say that I am looking forward to welcoming a new class of scholars and leaders to our ranks.”
