National Honor Society schedules induction

Joining an elite group of the top students in the nation, 67 juniors and seniors will be inducted into National Honor Society on Oct 26. at 6:30 pm in the auditorium.

To become a member of NHS, students must have a 91.5 GPA, they must have completed either two Pre-AP, AP or Dual Credit classes and they must be currently enrolled in one of those classes and have to be approved by a board of teachers.

“NHS is a plus for my college journey,” senior Lauren Christy, one of the inductees said. “I’m excited to put it on my college applications.”

The second-year NHS members pinned the inductees during classes Oct 7.

    These 67 should be commended for their commitment to their work in high school. NHS does look good on college applications, but you must work very hard to even make those requirements. Some may think it’s not that hard to meet NHS standards, but it is very difficult to make them, and it is even harder to keep up with rules to stay in NHS until graduation. They have my respect for making it.
