The renovations on the softball field began in October and were set to be done mid-January but were delayed  because of snow. I found out about turf field from the athletic director, Toby Tucker, head softball coach, Styler Haddock said. I was getting ready to prepare it for the season and he let me know not to worry about it because turf was going in.

The NCAA reported that of the 8 million high school student athletes competing across the nation only 480,000 will continue to compete in college. Seniors Brayden Treadwell, Olivia Trask and Rhett Roden do not plan on pursuing sports in college despite the countless hours they have practiced and competed. “I don’t want to play college golf,” Roden said. “I’d rather go to Texas Tech than some small community college, but I’m not good enough to play Division I or Division II. It’s hard to sit here and think about what I am going to do with all my free time after high school golf. How much time am I going to spend on the golf course when I’m not forced to be there?”
