Arcade Fire turns up the heat

Arcade Fire turns up the heat

Arcade Fire,an indie rock band hailing from Montreal, Canada, is definitely a band worth your attention. With a combination of beats that make you need to dance and lyrics that touch your heart, Arcade Fire is a one-of-a-kind band. Their lyrics contain actual substance with true meaning that you can relate to.  If you enjoy this more than, say, Lady Gaga and her complete lack of taste in her lyrics, this is a band for you.

They’ve performed with David Bowie, U2  and David Byrne, for whom they opened at the Hollywood Bowl in 2005. Their newest album “Neon Bible” was released in 2007, and the band stayed true to their unique style.

Their first album “Funeral,” released in Sept. 2004, was widely received and gained positive reviews everywhere. Their song “Wake Up” was used in the preview for the soon to be released movie by Spike Jonze “Where the Wild Things Are.”

In all honesty, I am not familiar with this band and have never had the opportunity to hear any of their music. I don’t think the type of music this band performs would exactly be my style, but I’m always open for a new experience. Staff Writer Chelsea Minton wrote just enough describing Arcade Fire and their talent to get my attention and build curiosity on my part. Thanks to this excellent, well written article, I am motivated to find some of their music and give them a shot. Way to go, Chelsea!
